New York Giants tight end Darren Waller is set to make his regular season debut for the team on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys, despite being listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.

Waller, who was acquired by the Giants in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders in March, felt tightness in his hamstring last week and was limited in practice. However, he was able to participate fully in practice on Saturday and was given the green light to play by the team's medical staff.

Giants TE Darren Waller

Waller is a two-time Pro Bowler and one of the most productive tight ends in the NFL. He caught 107 passes for 1,145 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Raiders. His presence in the Giants' offense is a major boost for quarterback Daniel Jones, who is looking to rebound from a disappointing 2022 season.

In addition to Waller, the Giants will also have wide receiver Kenny Golladay and running back Saquon Barkley available for Sunday night's game. Golladay missed the preseason with a knee injury, but he was a full participant in practice this week. Barkley, who is coming off a torn ACL, is also expected to play a significant role in the offense.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, will be without wide receiver Michael Gallup, who is out with a torn ACL. Gallup is one of Dak Prescott's top targets, so his absence will be a big loss for the Cowboys' offense.

The Giants and Cowboys are both looking to get off to a good start in 2023. The Giants are hoping to end their four-year playoff drought, while the Cowboys are looking to build on their NFC East title from last season. Sunday night's game is sure to be a close one, and Waller's presence could be the difference for the Giants.
